im a selfshipper! suprise! Ive been selfshipping since 2012 when i fully believed my soulmate was raphael from teenage mutant ninja turtles, and honestly that love never went away, despite my thing in 2018 where i lost interest due to lack of new content (i didnt count rise!tmnt) and ended up putting that interest "on the shelf", i still loved raphael dearly. Even when i found a new hyperfixation on My Hero Academia, which is where my second f/o ever (katsuki bakugou) came from, i was still deeply afraid of loosing that affection to raphael, and later on, katsuki bakugou. Over time, despite some denial phases, i was still in love with these character. Shocked emoji.
Even if i didnt know what selfshipping was at the time and didnt figure out until about late 2023, early 2024, i do know that if i knew what selfshipping was at the time i'd heavily agree that was what i did- i mean, i did say i was ficto as soon as i found out the word for it. It took a while for me to actually get into the selfship community, only joining in about october 2024 due to the idea that maybe i was too cringey and in denial, but when i realized how little it mattered, im now a (somewhat) proud selfshipper! Most of the time, my f/os are just for fun and being silly kinda stuff, however i have a few f/os that i see as a more serious relationship, which is kinda crazy to think about but yknow. Im still figuring out what terms i'd use for my f/os, as its sooooo confusing, but for now my list will contain Romantic / Bonded f/os (Nonsharing and very gay about), QPR f/os that i feel connected to but because i dont feel its as serious as my bonded f/os, theyre more QPR to me, and your good ol' platonic and familial f/os which are self explanatory!.
