"Hi kids, whats for dinner?"

Severance is the best show i have ever watched, genuinely. As much as i can love every other show ive watched before, Severance beats them all. This series is still in production, as im writing this season two is releasing episodes still, and good god is it amazing. Severance follows Mark, a man who works on the Severed floor at Lumen. His mind is Severed, as the title of the show suggests, where his memories have been surgically divided between his work and personal life. When at work, he cannot remember anything of his life outside, and When not at work, he cant remember anything inside. Its a beautiful show, putting meaning behind every single decision made about the characters, and follows Mark trying to figure out what it is he really does at Lumen. Some of the other main characters are Irving, Dylan, and Helly R, a character that recently got introduced when Mark's old co-worker gets fired. The imagery this show has is absolutely stunning.

As a "Corporate Thriller", this show is perfect at showing the company of Lumen as the Antagonist is the series, and as it continues it makes every detail even more creepy and frightening. I could praise this show over and over, as there is so much great storytelling here. Camera affects are great at showing the change in "Innie" vs "Outie", referencing to who they are inside lumen vs who they are outside lumen. It tells how seriously confusing or even disturbing each part of the show is, including how inhuman some of the higher-ups are. Its great for anybody who ever has had a bad experience with a corporation, and dare i say the representation of the severed memories is better DID representation than any show or movie specifically about DID. This show is downright terrifying in the most amazing way, keeping the audience on the edge of their seat as they have no clue what will happen, almost going through this with the characters- But giving the audience insight the characters dont.

Its been a while since ive watched the first season of Severance, but i know it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It follows Mark kind of waking up and realizing what was happening, especially due to Helly R.'s recent hiring. Helly is very much against being severed, trying her hardest to get out, however it seems like her Outie is very much against that. Mark, because of this, is learning more. Mark's outie meets Peter or "Petey", who was the character who was fired / had quit in the first episode, however Mark had no clue who this Petey was and gets very confused as Petey talks to Mark as if he knows him. Aparently, Petey has been reintegrating, a process where his innie and outie become one person again. Personally, i feel like theres DEFINITELY some feelings between petey and mark, however this probably is changed later on. I really love Mark finding out everything, and more that Helly is generally silly (she hates her outie so much because she forces her to stay. To warn you, she tries to die. Also dylan tries to kill the security guy because oh wow, he finds out he has a sun. Also. Irving has a crush on this guy named Bert in another department. They love eachother. So of course, bert has a retirement party and never comes back. Theres just so much that i adore. ALSO HELLY BEING A FUCKING EAGAN MADE SO MUCH SENSE AND FREAKED ME OUT SO MUCHHHHH AUUUGHHHh i HIGHLY recommend it. Every single department has so much detail. The difference between red and blue colors, red being the outside world and blue being the inside world. Its so beautiful, looking at literally ALL THE FUCKING AMAZING STUFF ITS ACTUALLY SO COOL OH MY GOD OH MY GOD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

After they find out the outside world of lumen, hell almost seeing the sky, they are CRAZY oh my god. Helly R. finding out she is a fucking eagan is CRAZYYY. The fact that they lied to Mark about how much time has passed, its crazy, also WHAT IS COLD HARBOR>!>!? also, the fact that Helly was her outie pretending to be her innie, and irving almost killing her? crazy. actually crazzy. HOW DID HE FIGURE OUT SHE WAS AN EAGAN? Also usually im not a fan of sex in shows, but Mark having sex with helly's outie being so noticablely different then having sex with helly's innie? So wild. Also the cinematomicagraphly is grazy and amazing. Also finding out his outtie wife is alive? wild. crazy. blows up. Symbolism is actually so beautiful. I love it so much. I am actually crazy about this show. Also im 100% sure that child worker girlie Ms Wong is going to have a giant part of this show, i swear.
